\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFrom November 4\u20136, 2025, Paris once again became the global hub of the nuclear industry, hosting the World Nuclear Exhibition (WNE) 2025 \u2014 one of the most important international events dedicated to nuclear energy. Together with our partners V\u00daJE, a. s., PPA CONTROL, a. s., and Kr\u00e1lovopolsk\u00e1 Stress Analysis Group, s. r. o., ENSECO had the pleasure of exhibiting among leading companies shaping the future of nuclear power. Our delegation was represented by Ing. Michal Hrdina, Ing. Dalibor Pr\u00e1znovsk\u00fd, and Mr. Branislav B\u00e9re\u0161. \n\nThis year\u2019s exhibition brought together more than 25,000 participants and 1,000 exhibitors from over 80 countries to share expertise, present innovations, and discuss the future of nuclear energy in the context of technology, safety, and sustainability.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Future of Nuclear Energy: Main Discussion Topics<\/h2>

<\/p>

The overarching theme of WNE 2025 was the renaissance of nuclear energy \u2014 with all the challenges and opportunities it brings. Expert panels covered a wide range of subjects, from breakthrough technologies and new applications of nuclear power to global collaboration and policy harmonization. <\/p>

Key discussion areas included:<\/p>

  • Accelerating the development of new nuclear projects and tripling capacity by 2050<\/li>
  • New financing models and support mechanisms<\/li>
  • The industrialization of fusion energy<\/li>
  • Artificial intelligence for predictive maintenance, operational optimization, and nuclear safety<\/li>
  • And increasingly, the standardization of processes across the global nuclear sector<\/li><\/ul>

    Standardization, in particular, resonated strongly throughout the conference. Experts emphasized that harmonizing regulatory frameworks, establishing unified safety standards, and relying on proven technologies are essential for speeding up nuclear construction, building public trust, and strengthening energy security worldwide. <\/p>

    For Slovakia, the topic of standardization carries special significance. The European Commission, together with organizations like WENRA and ENSREG, has been working for years to unify licensing procedures and develop common safety reference levels across all nuclear projects \u2014 from new builds to decommissioning, such as that of V1 and A1 reactors in Jaslovsk\u00e9 Bohunice. These processes have a direct impact on the Slovak nuclear program: <\/p>

    • The Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic (\u00daJD SR) continues to align its regulations with European frameworks.<\/li>
    • Slovak institutions like V\u00daJE and SNUS actively participate in European projects such as ELSMOR and HARMONISE.<\/li>
    • Feasibility studies for small modular reactors (SMRs) \u2014 including Project Phoenix \u2014 are being developed in line with international safety and licensing standards.<\/li><\/ul>

      Standardization and digitalization (including additive manufacturing and AI-based tools) are seen as the key to addressing the main challenges of nuclear projects \u2014 their long timelines and financial complexity. These approaches can help shorten construction periods, reduce risks, and enhance transparency in decision-making.<\/p>

      ENSECO\u2019s Perspective: Ready for the New Nuclear Era<\/h2>

      <\/p>

      The participation of Slovak companies such as ENSECO at WNE 2025 reaffirmed Slovakia\u2019s readiness to be part of the new era of nuclear energy \u2014 one focused on diversification, efficiency, and safety, powered by AI and other breakthrough technologies. However, this remains largely on a theoretical level. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      \u201cWe still have a long way to go. In Europe, there is much discussion about goals and plans, while Asia is already building,\u201d says Ing. Michal Hrdina, CEO of ENSECO. \u201cThat is why we welcome initiatives aimed at harmonizing legislation and safety requirements. It is essential to move from words to action \u2014 to accelerate the standardization process and successfully complete licensing procedures. This is a necessary step toward the swift deployment of individual SMR solutions once they are fully tested and ready for implementation at selected sites.\u201d <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
