Liquid ammonia heating for Duslo, a. s.

Project duration: January 2022 – ongoing

We provided the largest chemical company in the Slovak Republic with innovations in manufacture and treatment of ammonia that would save considerable energy costs in future operation. Thanks to the EPC contract, the Client got comprehensive services from the initial phase of designing and engineering, through material and equipment procurement, up to the execution and final commissioning.

The purpose of this project was to make liquid ammonia heating more efficient and less energy demanding, while using the heat from circulating water released from the ammonia storage from the ammonia gas condensers 81-2101 and 81-2102 to the circulating water plant CV3 at the temperature of app. 28°C (winter temperature of app. 25°C) by means of a secondary EG circuit (ethylene glycol). First, the heat from circulation water is transferred via the E-2011 heat exchanger to the EG circuit and, from the EG circuit, it is subsequently transferred to the liquid ammonia in the new E-2010A and E-2010B heaters.

Project result

The innovations in the field of liquid ammonia heating, which we implemented for the client, will result in less energy costs and thus more efficient operation. Thanks to the EPC contract, enabling a comprehensive care of the project, the communication, implementation and management of the entire project was easier and better targeted. Detailed engineering, procurement of all necessary resources and materials in compliance with the specifications and project schedule and coordination of the implementation according to the necessary quality standards and safety regulations saved time and costs throughout the entire project.
